Frequently asked questions
Does the Square Reader work without a phone?
No. It pairs over Bluetooth with a phone or tablet running the Square Point of Sale app. For a standalone device that prints receipts, choose the Square Terminal.
Can I accept Interac with the Reader?
Yes. In-person Interac debit is accepted at 0.75% + $0.07 per transaction.
Is there an option with no hardware at all?
Yes: Tap to Pay on iPhone and Tap to Pay on Android accept contactless payments directly on your phone, no reader needed.
